College Students

College students and young people can face lifelong consequences for one error in judgment. While the legal penalties associated with certain criminal charges may not be very serious, a criminal conviction can possibly limit your professional and educational opportunities down the road. If you, or your son or daughter has been charged with any criminal offense, it is vital to have a lawyer on your side who can present the strongest possible defense.

I am attorney Ryan L. Beasley. Based in Greenville, South Carolina, I defend college students across the area, including students at Furman University, Greenville Technical College, Bob Jones University and other institutions. I frequently speak to college students (or their parents) facing all types of criminal allegations, including:

  • Minor in possession
  • Simple possession of marijuana
  • DUI
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Public drunkenness

Helping You Take The Necessary Steps To Protect Your Future

Depending on the facts of your case, there may be programs that can help you minimize the consequences of a criminal charge. For instance, certain first-time drug offenders may qualify for a conditional discharge. Under a conditional discharge, if the defendant successfully completes a probation program, the charges can be dismissed. In addition, people accused of some types of alcohol-related offenses may qualify for an Alcohol Education Program or AEP. Under this program, people who qualify can complete community service, alcohol testing and classes can have the charges dismissed.

Of course, I do not simply look for the simplest way to dispose of a charge. In many cases there are strong defenses that could lead to a dismissal of the charges altogether. Whatever your situation involves, you can count on me to seek the best possible outcome.
